Pale Ink

Privacy

Pale Ink collects nothing. No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.

The app reports nothing about you

Pale Ink is a browser. The pages it displays come from the addresses you type, plus the built-in home page described below. The app sends no usage reports, no crash reports and no device information — not to us, not to anyone.

What stays on your phone

Your display settings and current address; canvas placements remembered per address; the pages you saved, with the look you gave them; and one flag recording whether you have seen the gesture tour. All of it lives on the device, is removed when you delete the app, and is never synced or uploaded.

The pages you open

Sites you visit see you exactly as they would in any browser. Their own cookies, scripts and analytics have nothing to do with Pale Ink and are not under its control. That data never passes through us; we can neither see it nor store it.

The built-in home page

While it is open, the home page fetches the spot gold price from the public gold-api.com API about once a minute. The request is issued by the page on your device, needs no account and carries no identity or personal data; as with any web request, gold-api.com sees your IP address. The last price is kept on the device so the page is not blank offline. We receive nothing and store nothing. Open another address and the requests stop.

Purchases

Purchases — the free trial, the subscription and the one-time purchase — all go through the App Store. We never receive your payment details and do not need them. The receipt is held on the device by the system; Pale Ink only reads it to answer one question — whether the app is currently unlocked.

Children

Pale Ink collects no data, so it collects no data from children either. It is, however, a browser that can open any address, and parents should be aware of that.
